Amin Ehteshami received his doctorate in Islamic studies from the University of California, Berkeley (2019). His primary research areas are in jurisprudence, theology, and exegesis. His publications include an edited volume entitled In Praise of the Few: Studies in Shiʿi Thought and History (Leiden, 2020) as well as two forthcoming co-authored monographs, Theories of Testimonial Knowledge in Classical Islamic Theology (Leiden, 2021) and Seeking Certitude: Scriptural Authority in Early Shiʿi Jurisprudence (Leiden, 2021). Prior to joining BIT, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Exeter.
