Fatemeh Taheri, born in 1986, completed her bachelor's and master's studies in German language education at Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran. Since 2017, she has been a doctoral candidate at the Institute of Language and Communication at Technische Universität Berlin. Her dissertation project involves semantic analysis of Shiite sermons in the German language and was supported by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. Some of her research interests include (specific and foreign) language in theology, problems of translating religiously sensitive vocabulary in sermons, traits of specific language in Islamic sermons in German and the language education of imams in Germany. Both in Iran and in Germany, she is active in German-Persian written translation and oral interpreting.
Fatemeh has been a member of the Berlin Institute of Islamic Theology at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin since June 2020.
